HILENSKI AND OLEVIC INTIMIDATING THE COMPETITION Nick and Edin taking time out of their busy basketball schedule to take a picture

The boys basketball team had their first game and first win on Friday December, 1. They had a score of 38-27.

Aiden Castro, a new player to the WMS team, said he was nervous at first, but “the nerves went away as he started playing”. He said winning the first game was “really cool” because he had “friends on the team and it was fun beating them”.

Edin “The Dream” said he needs to “keep it organized and control of the offensive plays”. He also said “It’s my responsibility to control the team because I’m the point guard.” “A times it was hard for when they were double teaming me, other than that it was easy”

Nick “Hellcat” Hilenski said “it was good to be back out there with the team” and “hopes they can win another championship”. He said it was “very sad” that it was his last first game and he “doesn’t want to leave middle school”.

Jake “The Jumper” Serrano said it was “great” scoring 8 points in the first game and that he felt “accomplished”. He also felt that he “helped contribute to the win”. He thinks that the rebound weren’t difficult because he “rebounds well”.
