Mr.Salinas coached the basketball team to a first-round win in the playoffs during the 2025-2026 season at Woobridge Middle School.

Coach Salinas explained what he focused on during the season.  He said, “I think player development is the primary thing that everybody needs to be focused on, rather than the winning piece of it.”

Mr Salinas also explained how he helped his players throughout his season, “I tell them that we play to win games as a unit, that’s when we thrive, that’s when we’re successful.”

When asked about what type of drills Mr. Salinas said he is just trying to build team chemistry, “We’re just trying to build team chemistry so that everyone would collaborate and play together.” 

Kai Dowell, a basketball player on the WMS basketball team explained his mindset.  He said, “My mindset is like I’m better and nobody can mess with me.”

 Kai Dowell explained his effort he put in. He said, “I put in a lot of effort and worked out in the summer, and I put in a lot more effort this season than last year.”   

 Gianni Rivera, a basketball player at WMS said that he feels very proud to be one of the warriors , “I felt very good and honored to make the team.” 

 Gianni Rivera also explained that he likes practicing with his teammates, “Practicing with my teammates and having a good time”
