GO BIG OR GO HOME: WMS Lady Warriors Volleyball team go in for a team huddle.

Ending the game with the gold, the WMS Lady Warriors Volleyball team take the win at another home game.

Caitlin McNish, a 7th grader on the WMS Lady Warriors Volleyball team, states, “Yes I do think that we improved from our last game, because we work better together in games and practices now that we know each other better.” McNish believes the team can still work on “communication” and “moving our feet”. McNish comments, “I do practice when I get home. I practice all the time with my sister since we both made the team, and we would help each other out. For example, I would tell my sister to throw the ball at me at different speeds, and I would have to hit it.” McNish has doubted herself in a game, because she thought she was hitting the ball “weird”.

Tori Olsen, a 7th grader on the WMS Lady Warriors Volleyball team, says the team “

works better” now. Olsen believes the team can still work on “bumping, communication, and moving our feet”. Olsen comments, “I do practice at home because I want to become better. I work on passing and serving when I am done with my homework.” Similar to McNish, Olsen has doubted herself in a game. She believes that she would “over-run the ball” and it would affect the game.

Tifany Paredes, a 7th grader on the WMS Lady Warriors Volleyball team, thinks there is improvement from the first game to their recent games. Agreeing with Olsen, Paredes believes that the team can work on “bumping, communication, setting, and spiking”. Paredes says, “I practice when I have time because I play soccer, and sometimes I would have soccer practice almost right after school. But when I do practice, I work on serving and setting.” Paredes has doubted herself in a game against Avenel because she “wouldn’t hit the ball well”, and it would “cost the team the point”.
