Are you thinking of travelling this summer? I think a perfect place to go this summer is Pakistan. A 2–3 week trip is ideal for first-timers to explore major sites in Pakistan. Here are some reasons why you should go to Pakistan for a relaxing and enjoyable trip.
The Weather
In Pakistan Winter comes from Dec to Feb, and it’s cold and dry. Spring comes from March to May. A hot/humid summer monsoon comes from June to September. Then finally Autumn comes from October to November. I recommend going in summer because it’s most fun. If you go in summer you must be safe from the sun because the temperature can reach from 50C to 122F. Areas like Jacobabad and Sibi often record the highest temperatures, with mean maximums frequently between 105F and 114F in May and June. Lahore typically sees daily highs around 103F, sometimes exceeding 110F. Karachi , another city in Pakistan, remains relatively cooler but still hot and humid, with average highs around 94F in June.
Things to bring:
When visiting here, it is important to have everything you need and to know what to expect. Some essential things to bring, especially if you are going in the summer, is sunscreen so you don’t sun burn. The second thing is comfortable walking shoes and slippers. This is pretty important especially if you plan on walking a lot and exploring many different places. Your feet may hurt if you don’t have comfortable footwear. It’s best to always be prepared. If you are going there in the colder months, it’s best to bring coats and thick layered clothing.
Where To Go:
The best places I would say to visit are Hunza valley, a breathtaking, high mountain valley surrounded by the Karakoram Range, including peaks like Rakaposhi. Swat Valley, which is a premier, scenic destination often called the “Switzerland of Pakistan” for its lush green landscapes, snow-capped mountains, and the flowing Swat River. And another place you should visit is Pakistan’s second largest city, Lahore is a vibrant metropolis of over 14 million known as the nation’s “Heart” and culture capital. And the best historical place you visit in Lahore is the “Badshahi Masjid”- a premier 17th-century Mughal-era mosque completed in 1973 by Emperor Aurangzeb.
Food:
There are many different Pakistani foods that are filled with flavor and spice. Some of the best Pakistani foods that you have to try are, “Biryani(spiced rice with meat), Samosas (popular deep-fried pastry with potato, characterized by its thin, flaky, and crispy shell.) Chaat (a popular category of savory street food defined by an explosion of contrasting flavors and textures: sweet, spicy, tangy, and crunchy.) Karahi (a beloved dish traditionally cooked in a wok-like iron pan (the karahi) over high heat, featuring bone-in meat (chicken, mutton) stir-fried with tomatoes, green chilies, ginger, and garlic.) Kebabs(flavorful, often charcoal-grilled, ground meat delicacies seasoned with aromatic spices like cumin, coriander, ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Common types include juicy Seekh kebabs, crispy Pan-fried Chapli kebabs), and pani puri(small, crispy, hollow fried dough balls filled with spiced mashed potatoes, chickpeas, and onions.) There are also many other amazing foods.
Places to hike:
There are also many great places to hike in Pakistan, the mountains are very beautiful. Northern Pakistan is a premier global destination for mountaineering, characterized by the world’s highest mountain ranges like: the Karakoram and Himalayas. Pakistan offers world-class hiking in the Gilgit-Baltistan region—home to the Karakoram and Himalayas ranges—featuring iconic spots like Fairy Meadows, Nanga Parbat base camp, and the Hunza Valley. The terrain is characterized by massive glaciers, rugged terrain, and deep valleys.
