The following is a full transcript of the interview given by Mia Torres Zapata to The Warrior Messenger’s Israh Sukhera about her opinion on waking up early on school mornings.
Israh Sukhera: How do you spell your first and last name?
Mia Torres Zapata (a 7th grader at WMS): M-I-A T-O-R-R-E-S Z-A-P-A-T-A
IS: How do you feel about going to school early in the morning?
MTZ: I don’t like it because sometimes I sleep late which is kind of on me but I just also don’t like waking up early in the morning, it’s a struggle for me.
IS: How long would you need to get ready for school?
MTZ: Like 2 hours or a singular hour but I take pretty long.
IS: What time do you prefer waking up in the morning ?
MTZ: Like 2 pm or 1 pm.
IS: At around what time would you rather go to school and why?
MTZ: It would be 1 pm because like I said im not really a morning person I would rather go later on when I actually have energy rather than in the morning.
IS: Do you get enough sleep with this current school schedule.
MTZ: So supposedly I should, but again it’s on me due to my sleep schedule because it’s really messed up right now. I manage, however, I have to because I still have to go to school whether I chose to or not.
IS: Is there anything else you would like to add?
MTZ: Nope, that’s it.
IS: Ok, thank you for your time.
