The following is a full transcript of the interview given by Layla Sushell Eugenio Cid to The Warrior Messenger’s Olivia Sanchez about Students options of state testing.
(The Warrior Messenger) OLIVIA SANCHEZ, HOST: Thank you for your time, I’m working on something about the experience of state testing. May I record this interview?
Layla Sushell Eugenio Cid: Yes you may.
OJS: How do you spell your first and last name?
LSEC: L-A-Y-L-A S-U-S-H-E-L-L E-U-G-E-N-I-O C-I-D
OJS: Thank you for your time, I’m working on something about the experience of singing and what there is to know about vocal music.
OJS: First question, how did you get an interest in vocal music?
LSEC: When I was like younger, I just loved singing and then, when I found out you can take singing classes in schools I wanted to join.
OJS: What was going through your mind at auditions?
LSEC: That I just like singing.
OJS: Why do you think other people should try a chance at vocal music?
LSEC: Because, it’s actually very fun and you get to do a lot of things; and plus there’s this one thing that we do for my competition where we go to Six Flags or go to an amusement park and that’s a fun part about that.
OJS: Okay, could you explain how hard or easy vocal music is for you currently?
LSEC: It could be hard sometimes when you’re going through music notes and stuff like that but, the rest of it is easy if you like music.
OJS: What is your favourite song to sing?
LSEC: So right now, in my choir class we’re learning “Bohemian Rhapsody” and it’s kind of my favourite song right now.
OJS: Oh Okay, how do you memorise the notes in vocal music?
LSEC: I just sing it a lot of times and I look at the paper and I just memorise it.
OJS: Okay, is there anything else you would like to add?
LSEC: No, that’s it. Just that choir is fun to do.
