Napoleon signed a treaty with Tsar Alexander I that ended the war between Russia and France on July 7,1807. Another treaty was signed on July 9 with King Fedrick Wiliiam III of Prussia, in which Prussia had to surrender its half of the territory.
After the two agreements (called Treaties of Tilsit), Napoleon Chief of Staff, Alexandre Berthier organized a grand rabbit hunt. He gathered over 3000 rabbits for the emperor and his guests to shoot them.
The biggest mistake that happened during the event is that the Berthier men purchased rabbits from farms (who naturally depend on food) instead of trapping the wild hares (who are naturally afraid of humans). The rabbits did not run away, instead they attacked the officers thinking they were supposed to be fed.
No one was injured during the attack since everyone had to retreat, but the grand event went into a grand disaster
