I collaborated with twelve eighth grade students at WMS to create a goodbye poem. Each student gave me a random word which was used for one line of the poem. The twelve students were then recorded reciting the line of the poem and… ” WMS: The Poem ‘A Mosaic Of Words'” was born. This poem was intentionally written to focus on the eighth grade students to honor our middle school journey together. Every individual student has had an experience of their own here at WMS but this poem lies on the cusp of our individuality and unity as a student body. Graduating middle school is not only an ending for us all, but a great beginning to the many more opportunities life will offer us and this poem aims to pay homage to that solemn truth.
