The chorus and band members are performing for a Jackson Liberty High School competition on June 6th. After their performance, they will attend Six Flags for a fun trip.
Mr McGuire, the chorus instructor, explained how excited he is to see his kids perform in competition. “I’m looking forward to seeing the smiles on all of the kids’ faces cause I know it’s the best day of the year for them,” he said.
McGuire went on to explain that he is excited to perform one of his signature songs at the competition, “Probably ‘How Far I’ll Go’. It is one of our signature songs that we do every year.”
Mrs Maneri, the band instructor at WMS, revealed she isn’t worried about performing and knows her kids would do just fine. She stated, “I’m not worried about other schools, I’m focused on our performance and what we hear back from the judges.”
Maneri continued to elaborate on her statement, “It’s a problem if they don’t practice, but they have their music in front of them.”
Ariana Lisboa, a 7th grader at WMS, said she’s also excited to hang out with her friends for the Six Flags trip. “I’m excited to spend time with my friends”, she said.
Lisboa also said, “I’m excited to perform ‘Bella Ciao’.”
McGuire also explained that he will enjoy Six Flags. He said, “I got a pretty good funnel cake last year, so I’ll probably eat it again.”
Maneri added that she is focused on the kids’ performance for the competition. She said, “I’m not worried about other schools, I’m focused on our performance and what we hear back from the judges.”
