Ms. Desch is a new teacher at WMS. She teaches 6th-grade history and 7th-grade civics. Ms. Desch is the nice teacher you see in the hallway greeting you for class. There are a lot of obstacles to adapting to a new school that you have never taught at before but the courageous teacher Ms. Desch is taking it like a champ!
For new teachers like Ms. Desch coming into WMS, you may wonder what you can do to help yourself while getting used to a new environment. Ms. Desch explained some strategies she uses, “Asking my co-workers for help and any other teacher who is willing to help. Their insight is really helpful. I think any new teacher asking as many questions as possible is the most important thing. You can always learn from somebody else.”
First impressions are important. You would want to have a good first impression anywhere, especially where you work. Ms. Desch said, “My first impression was how clean it is here, I know it’s very white like the walls and the floors but other than that it’s very clean, I love it.”
Students even like and appreciate Ms. Desch. Ava Kripaitis said, “ She is nice and she is a pretty chill teacher.”
Ms. Desch gave some advice for new teachers who may want to come and be a part of WMS. Ms. Desch said, “Take your time, don’t stress about the little things, there’s always tomorrow, and every lesson will not always go the way you want it to.”
Welcome to WMS Ms. Desch! We all hope that you have a great experience at our school. WMS hopes to see you for all the years to come.
