The Lady Warriors softball team at WMS are wrapping up the 2024 season in Woodbridge this fall.
Mr. Maneri is back for the Fall 2024 season. Maneri expressed how he loves the sport. He said, “I love the sport, I love watching the players develop from never playing before to playing in highschool.” He also discussed how he has always had a passion for baseball his whole life and now coaching softball adds to much thrill to his experience at WMS.
One of the players that has been on the team since 6th grade, Isabella Seno explained how energy is a very important part of the game. She said, “The energy messes with the other team’s mind and they get thrown off their game when we come out with loud energy.” Expressing this shows how she strongly believes everyone should be cheering for everyone no matter what.
The starting center fielder, Angelina Summers expressed how playing for the softball team changed her experience at WMS. She said, “I feel like there’s something to look forward to at the end of the day.” This explains how the school day goes fast for Summers as she knows that she will be on the field later that day. Playing on the WMS softball team brings happiness to all the players on and even off the field.
Coach Maneri also explained that he hopes that at the end of this season we “retain our champion title”. As this is his last year coaching the softball team he wants to end it with a W.
Isabella Seno expressed that going from the starting catcher to the starting pitcher is a huge change. She said, “It’s very different, the start of the game and the outcome depends on me.” Being the starting pitcher is a lot of pressure, how the beginning of the game goes can determine how the rest of the game will go.
You can’t spell Woodbridge without that W!
