Gifted and talented is a program in Woodbridge Township that provides extra enrichment for students that have specialized talents. Being in Gifted and Talented can help students with improvements like self image.
The people in Gifted and Talented don’t have to be the smartest because gifted and talented isn’t only for academics. For example, there is music and art.
Stephanie Perugini, a 7th grader at WMS, is in the program. Perugini explained what G&T means to her, “G & T makes you feel smarter and it can help with self image”
Perugini also explained if gifted and talented students are good at academics and why. She said, “Not all G & Ts are academics, there is writing, art, music.” So if you are not really good academically, you can still go to G & T.
Perugini said that the work is really time consuming and there are a lot of presentations. The people who are in the program get pulled out of classes and they have a lot of work to finish after school.”
Perugini said that “being in gifted and talented gives you an advantage in your education because you get tought stuff you usually woulden’t get tought in class.”
Stephanie Perugini explained how a gifted and talented student is different from a regular student and Perugini said, “They might focus and be able to do something better on a certain thing than someone else.”
Great work to the gifted and talented students. All students should try their best on both academics and condfidence.
