As the Girls Basketball season comes to a close there were many things that went on behind the scenes of this amazing team that many people don’t realize.
WMS coach, Mrs. Kaschak shared some of her thoughts on the teamwork displayed by the Lady Warriors this year. The team has been working really hard on teamwork this year making everyone work together. She said, “They always cheer each other on whether it’s in practice or in a game even in the hallways which is really nice to see.”
Just by watching a game, fans can tell they truly know each other well and want to lift each other up. The season has seemed like it went by so quickly and the team thinks that as well. Mrs.Kaschak said, “More time, I wish we had more time this year honestly because they really start to click like now and we’re at the end of the season.” This team could be the most in tune with each other than any other.
Speaking about knowing each other, 8th grade starter, Kiana Gosha, explained that teamwork really helps in games. She said, “I feel like we can more understand each other and not feel like judged or anything.” She also explained that “communication always helps.”
An 8th Grade basketball player, Victoria Irizarry, is a very hardworking player and she values teamwork as she said, “One thing I enjoy on the court is shooting and playing with my teammates.” Victoria said she thinks having a great mindset helps the team win and work together better and it’s easier for them to communicate with each other. She said, “If you have a great attitude I feel like you will have a great game because [your team is not] not fighting and stay positive.”
Bobbi Jo, the teams leading scorer, said, “I think we’re doing a pretty good job this season,we all enjoy playing with each other so I think that helps on and off the court.”
They all have a really good relationship and that’s what makes their team great. Bobbi Jo also said, “I like my team and I also like how we all pass the ball around and we like each other.” She really gets along with the team.
The girls have been working so hard to get where they are and making sure they can work together. It really shows the amount of work they’ve put in on and off of the court.
