With the pandemic, there may be a possibility we don’t have a summer this year. Many people speculate that summer will be canceled because there are more than a million cases of the virus. Will we have a summer this year or will the two months be full of total boredom?

One could assume that the pandemic resulted in many plans being canceled. For example, Haily Stetson, a 7th-grade student, said she “looked forward to sleepovers, but now they’re canceled. I wanted to go to the beach with my friends and hang out with my favorite people.”

It might seem that Summer might be a bummer. Just like how Jeffery De Leon, an 8th-grade student, said, “I expect it to be anti-climatic, there’s so much going on. That’s the only thing I can think about it right now.”

Another student, Ariana Posso, an 8th grader, said, “Summer 2020 will be very boring. Especially because my parents won’t let me leave the house. All I want to do is see my friends.”

As you can see, some people believe Summer 2020 will be boring. But, for example, Sophia DaSilva, a 6th grader, said, “it will be fun because many parks are open and maybe more stuff will open soon! It’s just how you perceive it!”

Even if summer is “canceled”. Just like how Sophia DaSilva said, “Maybe everything might not go back to normal, but we can always make the best of it!”
