Mrs. Liastro and the other teachers of WMS had a flash mob at the pep rally in the school auditorium September 30th, 2016 to get students pumped for the new school year.       

The teachers started with just  stepping side to side, but then it merged into a full-fledged routine that lasted the entire song. They worked very hard on the flash mob led by Civics teacher Mrs. Liastro who choreographed and performed the number to the song “Can’t Stop The Feeling”.   Mrs. Liastro began the performance on stage solo, then was joined by a myriad of teachers.

Teachers like Mr. Blasena and Mrs. Burke were a part of the flash mob. Mr. Blasena said, “My favorite part of the flash mob were the different reactions of the crowd.  The looks of confusion drastically changed to excitement once the curtain opened, revealing the dancing teachers.”  He thought it went “perfectly” and that the hard part was just getting it to fit into the schedule.

One of the teachers participating, Mrs. Burke, said, “It was a great time to show off our dance moves and get involved!”

They started practicing the day before the Pep Rally and they only had two rehearsals and Mrs. Burke said, “It was easy and fun so I was able to do it.”

The performance gave everybody a good laugh, and everyone was excited now for the new school year.
