Favorite Games

Gaming is something that we all hear about. It’s inescapable. Wherever we go people are either playing video games or talking about them. I did a few interviews and asked some of the gamers of Woodbridge Middle School’s seventh graders, what is the most popular video games that they know of?

The first person that I interviewed said that Doom Eternal was their favorite game. Doom Eternal is a first person shooter game. There are four other parts to the Doom series. The game was created by Mick Gordon and it can be played on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, Xbox one, and Microsoft Windows.The person that I interviewed said the object of the game is to “kill demons and survive”. Sounds like a pleasant game. There aren’t players that you can choose from due to the fact that it is a first person point of view.. It was developed by id Software and Panic Button Games.  They continued, saying that they didn’t know if it was popular or not because of how new it is. They also said it was a bit “calming”. 

Another 7th grader at WMS said that their favorite game is Spiderman. Spiderman is a third person view in which you play the game as Spider-Man. The object of the game is to kill the villains as Spider-Man does on comics, movies, and pretty much anything that he is in. It is a somewhat popular game and the student said, “The game is angering and sad. It’s sad because his aunt dies in the end.” They also said they play it on the PlayStation 4. 

The next game is, the one and only game that anyone ever talks about. Fortnite. The person that chose this game said, “It is a very popular game; most of my family members play it.” The object of this game is to be the last person alive, you can play it on a video game console (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, Xbox One, iOS, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh operating systems) or you can play it on your phone. 

The next game is Super Smash Bros. The person that I interviewed said, “The object of the game is that you have to fight and launch people off of the screen. Every character has a different color scheme to choose from.” They also explained that the game is somewhat popular, but it’s not like Fortnite. You can play it on any Nintendo platform, but the most recent platform is the newly released, Nintendo Switch. 

Another student at WMS said that her favorite video game was Wild Woody. Wild Woody is a video game that was released by Sega of America in 1995. Because the game was released in 1995, the game does have older graphics. Another seventh grader at WMS said, “You play as a pencil and you have to erase stuff to move up to the next level.” It is not a very popular game and it is not highly liked. 

Disliked Games

There is not much to the category due to the fact that most of the people that were interviewed said Fortnite. One person said they don’t like to play any of the Pokemon games. There are one hundred, twenty two games in the Pokemon series as well as it is a show.

Make Your Own Video Game

Students had a great time with the following question, . If you could build any video game, what would it be called and what would be the object of the game? The first person I interviewed came up with a game called Aliens. The person explained, “The Earth would be invaded and you would have to stay alive”

The second game that was created was, Bite My Biscuits. “A guy would steal a jar of cookies and you have to get it,” was how the person explained the game. Next we have a game that was created called, Architectary.  The person explained, “Build as you wish and there’s no limit to what you can use.”

This generation is addicted to video games and probably couldn’t live without them. What was the best video game? Well we know that Fortnite is the most disliked one. So long. For now, *Evil Laugh*.
