The show Degrassi: The Next Generation is a group of kids at Degrassi Community School who come face to face with a wide set of issues sometimes involved with growing up. Degrassi: The Next Generation is the fourth show in the Degrassi franchise.

In all fourteen seasons the show deals with events like school shootings, bullying, vandalism, being in a abusive relationship, being bipolar, dealing with depression and ptsd and many more. All fourteen seasons are about the characters Jimmy Brooks, Darcy Edwards, Emma Nelson, Manny Santos, J.T. Yorke, Paige Michalchuk, Sean Cameron, Gavin ‘Spinner’ Mason, Adam Torres, Drew Torres, Alli Bhandari, Sav Bhandari, Connor DeLaurier, Fiona Coyne, Clare Edwards, Eli Goldsworthy and many more and dealing with the situations of being in high school.

The show is based on real life situations that happens in real life and in high school. Throughout the show, it has mixed emotions so it makes it more interesting so it isn’t a boring uninteresting show. In seasons ten through fourteen, there are a lot of emotional situations that are extremely hard to watch without crying.

The most saddest events on the show were, when Adam Torres passed away during surgery from a car accident. When James Tiberius “J.T.” Yorke got stabbed to death outside Emma Nelson’s house on Liberty’s seventeenth birthday party. When Clare was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma “Sarcoma” cancer. When the Toronto Ice Hounds hockey superstar Campbell Saunders took his life from his depression.

Even though the show seems sad and depressing and may look lie it only deals with horrible situations, it doesn’t. There are very happy situations on the show, when everyone made it to graduation and graduated and see where they go after high school.
