The 2018-2019 school year at Woodbridge Middle School has been hard for many teachers and students because of the construction, but the renovation is not far from complete.

Dr. Crowe, the Principal at WMS, explained that the construction was on schedule, and that the building will be finished in September then the renovation will be finished in February of 2020. He stated that “the frame is getting taller every day”. Dr.Crowe also said that there will be eight new classes in the back of the building, and four of the classes will be science rooms.

He stated that when the building is done there will be new electives, but not many. Dr.Crowe also said there will be a new production room. He stated that there is nothing new that the students don’t already know. Dr.Crowe said that when that when the construction is finished he will enjoy “all of it”.

Vice Principal, Mr.Harris said he will enjoy having a new building and the new space. He also stated “I will enjoy the new attitude of students because of their love of the new building.”

Mrs.Lukachyk, one of the school’s physical education teachers stated that she would want the new gym to have bigger locker rooms. One of the other teachers, Mr.Thomsen said that he would want the new gym to be finished and the gym to be “much bigger”.

Music and chorus teacher, Mr.McGuire said he would want “new risers for chorus, new guitars, and a nice microphone so I can record the class.”

Mrs.Maneri, the instrumental teacher at WMS stated that she would want “new loud speaker system, and new chairs so [my students and I] can practice better” in the brand-new band room.

The computer teachers, Mr.Cardoso and Mr.Blasena are both a part of the WMS Furniture Committee for the new building. The Furniture Committee picks out new furniture for the renovated school. Mr.Cardoso said that every single student and teacher desk will be new and improved. Some classrooms like the art and new science room will have new tables.

He also said that there will be three lounge areas by the new main office, old main office, and in the basement by guidance. Mr.Cardoso said that he loved being a part of the Furniture Committee and helping out in the renovation.
