Mrs.Duffy and Mrs.Steinberg both won teacher of the month for October and they can’t handle their excitement. The social studies teacher and language arts teacher express their gratitude for the award.

Furthermore, Mrs.Duffy and Mrs.Steinberg have been working hard as teachers and making sure every student does well in class, but also encourages them to succeed in life.

Mrs.Duffy has been working as a teacher for 13 years and would have been longer, but had to take care of her two boys and Mrs.Steinberg has been a teacher since 2005.

In addition, Mrs.Duffy says that she would describe herself as a “silly and enthusiastic” person. Mrs.Steinberg describe herself as a “fun and loving” teacher and her students agree as well as saying she is “fantastic, smart, kind, and caring.”

Mrs.Steinberg and Mrs.Duffy make sure they bring a certain attitude into the classroom  Mrs.Duffy says that she brings in “positivity and compassion”. Similarly, Mrs.Steinberg tries to bring everyone together with a “sense of community” into her classroom.

All teachers have a background story of why they decided to become a teacher. Our 6th grade teachers of the month are no different.  For example,Mrs.Duffy commented that “[she] had a teacher who was so mean to [her] that [she] made a promise that if [she] becomes a teacher [she] would never make a student feel the same way [she] did.” Meanwhile,Mrs.Steinberg’s inspiration to become a teacher is the way “children’s light bulbs go on” when they “get” something in a question or a lesson.

Mrs.Duffy and Mrs.Steinberg of course won 6th grade teachers of the month and their reactions were heartwarming. When Mrs.Steinberg found out she won 6th grade teacher of the month she said she “was jumping up and down and was very excited and felt loved.”  Then when Mrs.Duffy found out she also won 6th grade teacher of the month she felt “flattered and honor ” about the award. So congratulations to our 6th grade teachers of the month.
