LIGHTS, MUSIC, DANCE: The Dj from the dance.

Amanda Del Monte, Spring Author

Thursday May 17th the PTO held a summer themed dance after school from 4-6pm. With pizza, chicken nuggets, chips, water, fruit punch, cupcakes and cake, the dance was open to all grades. Lays were given out to students and students could take them home.

The tables where colored in blue, light blue, orange, pink and light green table cloths, with balloons on them. With a beach photo booth and tiki posters on the wall, the dance was the “hot” place to be. There were more 6th graders than 7th and 8th, but that didn’t stop everyone from showing off their moves. The Dj played many hits from today and a lot of songs that you can dance to. For example The Cupid Shuffle, The Wobble, Cotton Eyed Joe and many more.

When the dance was over, no one wanted to go home. A lot of the kids were hanging out outside talking. Everyone looked like they had a great time.

A 7th grader Sophia Cook says that “she liked everything” and that “it was really fun”. “What I would change is, I would put on more songs, like the macarena .” Cook explained.

Emily Planco, another 7th grader, explained that she thinks the dance would be more fun if the Dj asked the students what songs they wanted to hear and if they had some games. “My favorite thing about the dance was just being with all the grades, so I can hang with 6th, 7th and 8th graders and get to know them better,” Planco said

I had loads of fun at the dance. My favorite part was being able to hang out with my friends. I loved the music, the summer theme and mostly everything about the dance. If I choose change anything about the dance. I would it make it longer, so everyone had more time dance and be with their friends. I would so go to more dances that the school has, because they’re super fun. I really hope next year the school has more dances for the students to enjoy.
