In the year of 1905 the world’s biggest diamond was found. The diamond was a staggering 3,016 carrot and weighed 1.333 pounds. It was eighteen feet below the surface and was spotted by Frederick Wells. He showed the diamond to the mine owner Sir Thomas Cullinan. Cullinan sold the diamond to the government. The government wanted to give it to King Edward as a birthday. Fearing the Diamond would be stolen they put a phony on a ship and the other was in a plain box. The diamond is in 100 pieces.
