In the year in 1950 eleven men robbed an armored car depot for 2.7 million dollars which was the biggest heist of the time. The convicts agreed not to touch the money until the six year because the statute of limitations runs out. They would have got way with it, but a culprit named O’Keeef was arrested from a different robbery and gave his money to a different person in who was part of the robbery. When the was in jail wrote a letter to then man asking him for his share or he might talk. The group hired a hit man to kill him and the hit man almost killed the O’Keef, but was stopped. The man ratted the group and eight of the men were given life sentences. Two of the men died before the trail. Only small amount of the money were recovered.
