In the year of 2001 the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa was reopens after eleven years of being expected and fortified. The cost was 27 million. The first attempt almost destroyed the building, but the engineers were able to reduce the curve by 17 inches. The city needed the tilt because it attracted the most tourist. The officials hired fourteen soil experts, architects, and archeologists. Even though tourists are limited to where they could go, crowds are everywhere snapping poses near the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
