NAINIKA THATIKONDA (7th grade choir student and artist at WMS): N-A-I-N-I-K-A first name, and T-H-A-T-I-K-O-N-D-A for the last name.
PM: Who introduced you to the world of art?
NT: Um..school actually. In kindergarten they made us draw all the time and then I just began drawing a lot.
PM: What inspired you to make more art? What websites?
NT: YouTube.. because I saw people on social media and I thought of how I could make money through that. It’s really innovative, and using your talent and social media can really help you develop stuff.
PM: What mediums of art do you relatively use?
NT: I used to do a lot of oil pastels and acrylic paints, but now I use alcohol markers, watercolors, and sketching sometimes.
PM: What do you do when you get art block?
NT: I usually take a break, or I make a collage to get my creative juices flowing. It usually comes back in a week or so.
PM: What videos would you recommend for someone who is trying out your style?
NT: I would recommend bitesizedsponge and Dandii_art and they are really fun artists. They really inspired me, like, a lot, and bitesizedsponge is on YouTube and Tiktok.
PM: Are you planning to take art into your future as a career?
NT: When I grow up, I’m trying to figure out a main career, but art will always be my hobby.
PM: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
NT: No.
PM: Thank you for your time.
