The following is a full transcript of the interview given by Uzair Ali to The Warrior Messenger’s Reporter Jacob about cricket.
(The Warrior Messenger) JACOB OKWEI, HOST:Describe a time you had to lead your team during a high pressure situation.
UZAIR ALI(7th Grader Cricket player):It was 3v3 then we were down by 20 points,me and my other friend put up 30 points total to win the game.
JO: Tell me a time when you had to work with a difficult team member.
UA: One time I had to work with someone who was really mean and he would cheat and not follow directions.
JO: Give me an example of when you made a mistake in a match and how you handled it.
UA: Cricket you have a bat and a ball I hit the ball the opposite direction and I hit a 6 which in baseball is called a home run.
JO: Talk about a time when you motivated your team when they weren’t feeling good.
UA: We were losing but I knew we were going to win so we won the finals by telling them to stay strong.
JO: Talk about a time when you went above and beyond to help a teammate.
UA: When one person after the match needed a ride home I helped them and gave them a ride.
JO: Describe a time when you had to change a strategy.
UA: I was doing the wrong batting style and my coach told me how to do it right and I improved.
UA: For anyone who wants to try cricket try your best and maybe you will make the team.
