2025 was a big year for many artists. Whether it was a new artist blowing up or an older artist making a comeback. One of these artists being Katseye

Being overrated means being rated or valued too highly. A lot of people call different artists overrated for many reasons. Whether it being how their music is bad, or just being hated on. We think that Katseye is overrated.

Katseye is a girl singing group created by HYBE. The group consists of six members Yoonchae Jeung, Daniela Avanzini, Manon Bannerman, Lara Raj, Sophia Laforteza, and Megan Skiendiel. This group was formed on Netflix in a documentary called “Dream Academy”. The documentary followed a duration of 12 weeks where they had to survive eliminations each week.

We believe that Katseye is really overrated because they make songs with lyrics that don’t make sense. Yet people still jam to them just because they’re popular. The song “Gnarly” for example is full of random items and childish lyrics. Specific lines like “Tesla Gnarly, Fried Chicken Gnarly”. Overall we just believe the songs they went viral for are just messy. 

Another problem that they have is one member over dancing the others. Daniela Avanzini is the main dancer, and has a long background in dancing. She often over-dances her members, sometimes making a big difference when it comes to choreography, especially in concerts. Some fans do call Daniela out for this issue, saying how it doesn’t give the other dancers a time to shine. Most of their fans hate on the other members for not matching or trying to match Daniela’s energy. 

To conclude, we believe Katseye are overrated, their fans put them on too high of a pedestal and   make it seem like their music is really good, but it’s not.
