The National Junior Honor Society starts up with students getting inducted into the program on April 10, 2025 at Woodbridge Middle School.
A way to join is by having good manners and leadership skills, kids have a chance to be inducted into NJHS. To join, the inductees wrote an essay and maintained these good skills. A few weeks ago it was announced who got in and when the ceremony would be.
“The National Junior Honor Society is a society that recognizes students that have shown excellence in their education, as well their academics and character. Being all around a good role model — many of our students take on leadership roles, whether various clubs they do in school or outside of school. And we like to recognize the students for their efforts,” said Ms. McHale, a teacher at WMS.
McHale explained how to join the NJHS, “Just maintain your honor roll status and try something new. You might realize you like it and maybe work with a different group of kids you don’t have class with and learn all their different gifts and talents and it really helps us to come up with some creative ideas and projects for this school year.”
Kai Dowell, a 7th grader at WMS echoed McHale’s sentiments, said, “I would tell them that they should work really hard for it because it could be like if you’re trying to get into a good high school it could really help. So, I would tell them to try hard to get into it.”
Alyssa Alvarado, a 7th grader at WMS said, “You can join by having good manners and leadership skills, kids have a chance to be inducted into NJHS. You had to write an essay and maintain these good skills. A few weeks ago it was announced who got in and when the ceremony would be.”
“NJHS is a good way to build your resume for high school or college,” Dowell said, “It might help me get into a better high school—– since it’s a very honorable thing to be in.”
The Induction ceremony will be on April 10, 2025 and it will be filmed live on channel 53.
