Michael Dowling, an 8th grader at WMS, has recently won the Warrior of the Week award on February 14, 2025.

Dowling is a student-athlete at WMS and he spoke about juggling being an athlete and a good student.  He said, “I always do my schoolwork before anything, then when I’m done I usually go to practice and if I have time maybe I will chill with my friends.”

Good students usually have a motivator.  Dowling said, “I would have to say my mom motivates me because everyday I see her hard work and dedication that drives me to work hard.”

Dowling expressed the mindset he has when he enters class, “When I enter class every day I make sure I come with a focused mind and I make sure that I’m ready to learn.’

Journalism teacher, Mr. Malmstrom explained what he likes about having Dowling in class. He said, ”My favorite quality about Michael has to be how he always includes everybody.”  Malmstrom also said he likes his level of effort.

Dowling explained how he embodies three different words.  He said, ”If I had to describe myself in three words it would be Great, outstanding, and athlete”
