Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2

The second installment of the so-far-two-part series Guardians Of Galaxy Vol. 2 impressed with it’s dazzling visuals and remarkable cast made this sequel live up to the expectations of its predecessor. The filming franchise Marvel Studios did a superb job in the production of this film. Director James Gunn and his wonderful staff did wonders in the development process of this installment creating what critics have called a masterpiece.

Chris Pratt displayed a marvelous performance capturing the character of Peter Quill leading his misfit group of heroes through the galaxy. In their adventures, they encounter a “superior” race of beings called the Sovereigns that have gold coated skin. They were hired by the Sovereigns to protect an area in which they can’t because a giant galactic space monster was attacking it.

However, once the Guardians completed their task and went back to collect their reward, voice actor Bradley Cooper, who played Rocket Raccoon, stole from the Sovereigns, which sets up the events for the rest of the film.

The main conflict throughout the film was Peter Quill–or Star Lord, as he likes to be called– dealing with emotional struggles. After such a long period, he has finally seen his father since he was a child back at Earth where his last memory there is of his mother’s death due to a cancerous tumor in her brain. There are also other celestial conflicts throughout the movie such as the Sovereigns and the Ravagers both hunting down the Guardians. Yondu, however, wasn’t leading the Ravagers in this chase for the Guardians because after his actions in the first movie he was no longer trusted by them.

Michael Rooker. who played Yondu, also known for his performance as Merle Dixon in AMC’s The Walking Dead had a more significant role in this movie. Yondu, after being exiled from the Ravagers for the events that took place in the first movie where he assisted the Guardians in fighting Ronan the Accuser. Yondu also has a run in with the intergalactic and self-named space pirate called Tazerface. Overall, Michael Rooker’s more important role in this film had an astronomical affect on all of the events going on.

There were stellar performances by actors,  Michael Rooker and Dave Bautista that stood out tremendously in this film. Their parts were a lot more meaningful in this movie, which was a fantastic decision by movie director James Gunn. Putting the spotlight on other characters and giving them key roles in film brought out the diversity between them. All of the characters are different and extraordinary in their own way bringing a more unique feel to this second installment.
