Everyone likes to dive deep into game lore like FNAF (Five Nights At Freddys) and other horror games but one game sits in the shadows and not a lot of people dive into its lore. That game is called Poppy Playtime. The goal of this article is to make this game more popular.
The Lore
Chapter 1 starts as you enter the Playtime factory, continuing the game you go through a giant door and see the lobby of the factory you see a giant statue as it seems. But the statue’s name is Huggy Wuggy Which is actually an unknown orphaned child. The scientists of Poppy Playtime experimented on children there.
They turned the children into toys that are living. By the fact that when Huggy Wuggy gets hurt he actually bleeds which proves there’s a person in there. Continuing where the game goes then you enter the factory which makes toys.
Then you make a toy and then you put it in a toy scanner to open a door. Once you go through the door, Huggy Wuggy shows up and chases you, and then you go through a vent and run. Once you end up in a giant room with it looking like the void below you and you can see a giant box above the bridge you landed on.
Then Huggy comes out of the vents and you pull the box and he falls into the void, then in the distance. You can see a giant painted poppy flower surrounding the door. Once you go through you walk down a long hallway until you see a box glowing red with a doll inside which is named Poppy.
Once you open it, everything goes dark and then you can see the outline of the doll’s face in the dark. And the doll says “You freed me.”
Chapter 2: It starts at the end of chapter 1 when the player and Poppy try to find a way out of Playtime Co. As they were leaving the antagonist Mommy Long Legs assaults Poppy and drags her away. Determined to save Poppy, the player must go inside the Game Station to face off against Mommy Long Legs. When they enter the game room Mommy snatches one of the grab pack’s hand off and reveals that she has Poppy captive in her grasp. She tells the player they must play 3 games however she states
That failure would result in her eating them alive. After finishing the first 2 games the 3rd’s ending was rigged so the player must escape the game. So after finishing the 3rd game despite it being rigged the win makes Mommy angry and makes them play one last game called hide and seek. Now the player must run away from Mommy eventually leading her to a grinder and kills Mommy.
Chapter 3: With the release of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, fans are left with questions about the third chapter’s ending and what it means for Chapter 4. Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 was released on January 30, 2024. There is no set
date for Chapter 4, but fans are hoping it will be released by the end of 2025 or early 2026. There was a 20-month gap between Chapter 2: A Fly in a Web and Chapter 3: Deep Sleep, so fans hope there will be a similar wait time until the
next installment. Some even speculate that Chapter 4 may be the last chapter in the franchise. Chapter 3 is the first chapter in Poppy Playtime to prominently feature religious themes, such as CatNap worshiping The

Why Isn’t it More Popular?:
Poppy playtime isn’t that popular because it can induce anxiety since most of the game is the player being chased and the jumpscares can scare children. And most people
were left disappointed because there isn’t much to the game. For chapter one of poppy playtime. Also with the problem of not knowing most of the controls and accidentally restarting the game in chapter one.

Who should play?:
Most people wait until they are mid-teen because of the scary jumpscares. So it might be best if kids 12+ play this game if they like horror. Also the game mechanics are easy ,but the puzzles make things difficult and most solutions are obscure and easily missed.
The player is motivated to solve a mystery but clearly the main point of this game is to survive.
