Camerata is gearing up for the 2024-2025 season with new members at WMS. It is so crucial to start the season off “inviting” as described by a fellow student at WMS, Aiden Delosangeles.
Camerata’s director, Mr. McGuire, is very passionate about what he does & is “looking forward to a very exciting season”. His great leadership & experience helped them earn superior ranking at the High Note Festival and performance with the Woodbridge High School for the first time in WMS history.
None of these amazing accomplishments would have happened if Mr. McGuire hadn’t started this group, his reason behind it was: “I very much believe that choir, singing, and music is for everyone and anyone who wants to sing is welcome to join the concert choir at Woodbridge Middle School,” he also added, “I have some students who are very advanced and would like additional challenges. What was happening was that a lot of them were spending tons and tons of money on private lessons and outside groups and not everybody has access to that.”
Another prominent member of the Camerata Choir and who is going on his 2 years of Camerata is, Aiden Delosangeles. DeLosangeles has stated, “ I knew Camerata was right for me when I saw the songs since they were very inclusive & I thought that if we sang those songs to the parents and the family members of the Woodbridge community that they’d be very heartfelt.” This conveys his feelings of the community behind the Camerata Choir.”
Delosangeles expressed his love and involvement in Camerata saying, “Camerata in one word is ‘inviting ‘. I say this because, when I first joined comrata, it was very social and everybody there was so kind & I think that if anyone would want to join it’d be very inclusive”
An additional proud member of the Camerata community who is also going into her 2nd year at Camerata is Aliyah Skeete. She said the best part of it for her is that “it’s easy & I didn’t struggle much with it.” Skeete described Camerata as “motivating” and added
that she felt “comfortable”
