The dance class has come back to WMS for 2024-25
Ms. Carelli said this year is different from last year because students are leveling up to more advanced levels since they have a basic understanding of dance.
They will also work on more choreography and projects built into the class. Ms. Carelli said, “For 8th grade, we are moving on to the next level and making it a little bit harder, a bit more advanced since we all have a basic understanding of dance.”
Ms Carelli stated that she did not know she wanted to be a dance teacher until later in her dance career. The person who inspired her to be a dance teacher was her dance teacher. She stated that she was the first person who made her realize she wanted to teach in the future.
Brielle Nelson, 8th grade student in dance, explained why she retook dance class and said, “Because it was something new, something that I’m not used to, and something I want to get better at.”
Nelson also said that she would not like to pursue dance outside of school, “ No, because it is not something I will be happy doing, it is just something I took as something extra, and to learn but not something that I would like to pursue.”
Omar Aboalatta, another 8th-grade student, said that his favorite part of dance class is “stretch.”
