Secretary of WMS receives the special recognition of Support Person of the Year
Secretary Doreen Palkovics from WMS has recently won the honor of Support Person of the Year after being chosen by principals and faculty dedicating years of hard work.
Ms. Palkovics has been the WMS secretary for four years, and plays a crucial role in how the school runs. “ I feel my job is important. I enjoy making our school shine,” Ms. Palkovics commented on her job.
Throughout the day, Ms. Palkovics has to do a lot of “multitasking”, but she enjoys that it’s “busy”. An everyday task that she said she has to perform is making sure all absent teachers have coverage, after being asked about the hardest part of being a secretary.
“I feel very honored, and I feel very proud of myself,” Ms. Palkovics said about winning the award. She feels she is most supported by Dr. Crowe and Mr. Harris, the administrators of our school.
“She is a committed worker. She gets the job done,” vice principal Mr. Harris described Ms. Palkovics. He explained how at the Downtown Administrative Office wanted them to pick a Teacher and a Support Person of the Year, so they picked Ms. Palkovics.
Dr. Crowe likes how Ms. Palkovics “runs the school smoothly”, and he admires her “dedication” and “hardwork”. “It is an honor and a pleasure working with her everyday,” Dr. Crowe commented about Ms. Palkovics.
Ms. Palkovics isn’t always drowned in work. Although she enjoys the teachers and “smiling faces of the students” at WMS, she likes to go to the gym and run in her spare time. She enjoys spending time with her family, which consists of her two daughters, two cats, and dog.
