Billy Joel was born May 9, 1949 in New York City. He is a singer and pianist who won a Grammy Award for his song “Piano Man.” This song was a hit and earned him the third best-selling solo artist in the US. Another one of his is “We Didn’t Start the Fire” which many people know of or listen to. Back in high school he played the piano at bars to help support his mother. Growing up he learned boxing and won 22 bouts in the Golden Gloves circuit. Summing up his career he wrote 33 top forty hits within the years of 1973-2013.
