At the pep rally on December 23, Alyssa Rosario ( seventh grade), Victoria Hrabkovsky( sixth grade), Kaitlyn Costales( seventh grade), Dominic Enzana( seventh grade), and Michale Nycz (eighth grade) were crowned “Star Students of the Month”.

Alyssa Rosario says winning the award is a real “honor” and it “makes you feel special.” She says she was surprised when she won the award because, “ I usually don’t win things like this”. Rosario says, “ I think I won the award because I was being helpful and caring towards others. I was also doing other good things.”

Victoria Hrabkovsky says, “ I recommend someone who pays attention and deserves to be awarded the title of ‘Star Student’”. Victoria says she sees herself as a “Star Student” because she helps out in the classroom and works diligently. Hrabkovsky says, “I like the teachers at this school because they try their best to make the students happy”.

Kaitlyn Costales says, “No one should inspire you to be a ‘Star Student’, you just do it.” Costales says “ yes” the award is important because “ it makes students feel good.” Kaitlyn says winning the award makes her feel good personally because she was not expecting it because “it’s not everyday you win something like this”.

Dominic Enzana says, “I think my brother was the most proud of me when I won the award because he is a part of my family and he kept telling me how proud he was. Dominic is proud of himself for winning the award because he helped people out.He also said, “If I could rename the award, I wouldn’t because it shows students they are stars and it makes you feel happy for yourself”.

Michale Nycz says it was not hard to win the award, “All I had to do was not be selfish.” Nycz was proud of the other “Star Students” because there are good students, “The first thought that ran through my mind was, oh yeah, that’s me, when I won the award”.

These are the students at WMS that especially shined their bright light of kindness this month.
