MLB off-season has been a homerun
Jan 6, 2023
Even though the MLB season hasn’t started yet, this has been an exciting watch. Seeing trades no one has expected has caught the attention of every baseball lover.
8th-grade baseball player, Nate Langon loved that Carlos Correa has gone to the Mets and loves to see him at 3rd; He also loves Justin Verlander. He is pleased they got Brandon Nimmo. Nate Langon doesn’t hope to get anybody in free agency because there are not a lot of good free agents left. If Nate was the owner of his favorite team with unlimited money he would sign Aaron Judge, Trea Turner, Justin Verlander, and Jacob Degrom. Nate has been affected by the trades this off-season in a good way because his favorite team, the Mets have had a good off-season.
8th-grade baseball and basketball player, Hogan Boyd, hasn’t been affected by these trades this off-season because his team hasn’t been making too many trades that are worth mentioning. Hogan’s favorite team has signed Trea Turner, the team that has marked him in Philadelphia. If Hogan had unlimited money and was the owner of his team he said he would sign Aaron Judge, Max Scherzer, Luis Castillo, and Robbie Ray. Hogan thinks that Aaron Judge is a better fit for the Yankees because he has a smaller stadium there and he wouldn’t get as many home runs in Giants stadium. Hogan didn’t agree with the Carlos Correa signing because he doesn’t fit in at the New York Mets because they already have an expensive shortstop.
7th-grade baseball and basketball player, Jack Koby, says that his favorite team the Yankees signed Carlos Rodon. He stated, “I’m very excited about it and he’s a great pitcher with nasty stuff.” Kobythinks Aaron Judge is better off with the Yankees because he’s going to have another 60-home run year and he’s sure about it because he has confidence in the Yankees and Judge. If Koby was the owner of his favorite team with unlimited money he would sign Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, Josh Hader, and Manny Machado.
6th-grade Teacher, Mr. Cianfano, is a huge fan of the Mets. Mr. Cianfano stated that “Carlos Correa is an awesome trade.” And he also loves Justin Verlander. He thinks that the Mets have a great chance of making it deep into the playoffs. If Mr. Cianfano was the manager of his favorite team with unlimited money to spend he would sign Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout. He stated that “the Mets look like one of the best teams on paper.” He also stated, “We can’t get too confident because there’s always a team that comes up like the Phillies.”
Teacher, Mrs. Gallagher, was a high school softball coach and her favorite team is the Yankees. She stated that her favorite team, the Yankees, has had a “goodish offseason signing Aaron Judge, but losing Andrew Benintendi seeing as we don’t have a left fielder right now.” Mrs. Gallagher stated that “if Judge even had half the season he had last season we’ll be winning.” She hopes that Judge can stay injury free and he can lead the team as a captain. She stated, “I think the Yankees can be a near 100-win team and then not get it done in the playoffs as they’ve done for the past 17 years.” She said Aaron Judge, playing at Yankee stadium benefits him as a hitter because he can hit to all sides of the field.
