For this week’s discoveries in nature, In 2021 a Bee species, using a weird genetic fluke, was found cloning Bees perfectly identical to each other. With this, they have created an army of bees. Reason for this is because workers in some species can reproduce using parthenogenesis, or asexual reproduction. But, this process of reproduction uses an unhealthy amount of genetic material, which is why they prefer reproduction from their queen. But when a genetic mutation enabled the South African cape honeybee, they were able to use asexual reproduction without loss of any genetic materiel.
