Mics go up, bullying goes down
Singing, spreading positivity, and awareness about bullying are not the only things Kris James and Robbie Maxx are about. When Kris and Robbie come to WMS, the crowd goes wild for these talented performers.
Kris and Robbie said that they began doing these assemblies in Georgia and in New Jersey. They met in a coffee shop a few years ago, and instantly started making music together. Although Aaron Pantaleon couldn’t make it, Kris, Robbie, Richie, and the 4 bros still made the bullying tour come to life. All of these performers are anti-bullying speakers/singers. They find a way to speak about bullying from their own perspective. Kris shares his story about being bullied, mainly in middle school, which is why he focuses on middle school tours. Although Robbie wasn’t bullied throughout his school years, he still feels strongly about helping and standing up for others.
Robbie Maxx says that his audience and fans are mainly the reason that he puts forward such a positive attitude. His music is also a big part of why he inspires. Besides their families, students are the reason Kris and Robbie are motivated to keep going. Because their fans play such a big role in their career, they try their best to stay in contact with their fans through social media. But music has helped them open up in a better way than verbal communication can accomplish. Robbie exemplifies this when he says “music is fearless.” Kris has been through his own experiences in life and doesn’t want other people to go through what he endured. It’s the main reason he’s singing and teaching kids about bullying. “It’s fulfilling,” he states.
Kris and Robbie don’t look at any other motivational speakers for inspiration, they sing from their experiences and hearts. Both Kris and Robbie don’t want to be compared to other speakers because they feel the need to be one of a kind and motivate people to do great things differently. “I want to be know for myself,” for both Kris and Robbie, their message is to “be yourself”. Even if they both sing to motivate, they have a different story and style behind it. But through all their hard work and commitment toward their anti-bullying tour, the singers love the days that they can have to themselves. To spend time with their families and friends through all their work is how they like to relax. Kris states that it is because “everything comes at you quickly” they just want to take the time to put away their work.
To stay positive, Kris and Robbie follow the advice of inspirational people in their lives. Kris James grew up by his grandma’s saying “everything happens for a reason.” He grew up believing in this quote and is still living by it. Especially during the time when Kris tried to commit suicide because of bullying.. Although he experienced an emotional rollercoaster during his middle school years, he takes it upon himself to become a motivational singer and speaker to teach kids not to bully and to help the kids who are going through what he once went through. Everything has happened for a reason for Kris and his music career couldn’t be going any better for him. He’s doing what he loves to do with his best friends.
Although Robbie wasn’t bullied during his school years, his passion for creating music that tells a story and inspires people has been a life changing experience for him. His instagram is filled with his own motivating hashtags (#goodvibesonly #makehistorynotexcuses #inspired #beyou #doyoubelieve #begreat #mindovermatter) that inspire his followers to keep moving and be happy. Robbie stays in contact with his fans as a way for them to reach out to him and ask him for help through hard times.
Woodbridge Middle School thanks Kris James, Robbie Maxx, The 4 bros, and Richie McKnight for spreading positivity around the school and giving the kids of the school a voice. The bullying stops now with the help of music and peace.
