Leaves fall every Autumn

They separate and change 

And fall into piles

With new leaves

“You’ve changed”

I wasn’t aware I was supposed to stay the same

You’re okay with the leaves changing

So why can’t I?

This is how life goes,

The leaves change,

Giving room for flowers to bloom

So why don’t you want me to bloom?

Everybody has changed from who they were a couple years ago

And that’s okay

We aren’t meant to stay the same

I thank you for always being there

And for everything you taught me

Some people are meant to teach you lessons

Forever only exists in movies and books

 And now

This flower needs space to bloom
