When I wake up on Super Bowl Sunday I help my dad a lot because we have a party every year, but it’s probably not going to be this big this year. I wake up, pick up the food we ordered and set up tables. After we do that, he makes the outside look nice and the backyard because it’s very big and that’s where everybody hangs out. Then my Dad and my Grandpa buy a big TV to watch the game, but that’s not the only reason why we buy it.  At halftime, everybody picks a number and the name that is drawn from the hat gets to keep the TV.  Super Bowl Sunday is somewhat of an unofficial holiday for America.  Although some of our traditions will not be the same this year as a result of the pandemic, at least we have games to watch!

This year we have a couple of good teams that could win it all and I will name them. The team that everybody thinks is going to win will be the Kansas City Chiefs, and the next team that has a good shot of being in the SuperBowl is the Green Bay Packers, another team that I think has a chance is the Buffalo Bills. Teams that I think will get knocked out are Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New Orleans Saints, The Cleveland Browns, next is the Los Angeles Rams, and the team that will choke again is the Baltimore Ravens and then the next team that has no shot is the Seattle Seahawks.   

Potential Super Bowl Winner: 

I had the Kansas City Chiefs. They are a hard team to stop on defense and they have weapons all around from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and finally Le’veon Bell at running back. 

The majority of the people interviewed picked the Chiefs, although that does not mean that they want the Chiefs to win.  For example, my dad, who has been an avid football fan for his whole life said, “I think the Chiefs will win it all, but the Buffalo Bills have a good shot”

What Teams are People Rooting For: 

In the interview with my dad, he said, “I want the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win it all.”   He likes Tom Brady. 7th grader, Gavin Slicner said it would be between the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers for his team to win. I think they both know who is winning it all though. I still think it will be the Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers and the winner in that game would be the Kansas City Chiefs. 

What Players to Look Out For: 

In my interview with my dad, he said the players in the playoffs to look out for are Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady. When I interviewed 7th grader, Gavin Slicner, he said Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, and Aaron Rodgers were his players to look out for in the playoffs. I would say Travis Kelce, Antonio Brown, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin.  Travis Kelce, who plays for the Chiefs, is a huge target and he’s fast and strong and he’s always open. Antonio Brown, a wide receiver for Tampa Bay, was not too long ago called the best wide receiver in the league–he’s a hard person to guard with his route running and catching ability and he can give you some yards after the catch because he is shifty and now he has a great quarterback. Mike Evans, a Tampa Bay receiver, is a huge target and quick. Chris Godwin is the same as Antonio Brown; really they are on the same level, but Antonio Brown has more raw talent.

What Will Determine The Winner?: 

Gavin Slicner said, “It will depend on the defense.” So he said whoever has the better defense will win that game, which I agree with. My dad said, “In the Super Bowl, it’s mostly an offensive game because of all the scoring that happens.” But I gave him an example and said ‘what if the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs were going against each other’, to which he responded, “Both teams have great defense.” But he also said they have great offense.  I think that despite the fact that both teams have good defenses, it will be an offensive game. I think the quarterbacks will just throw bombs every play and I don’t think the defense will be able to stop them.

I found out that the teams I picked to get to the Super Bowl were wrong. The teams that are going are the Chiefs and the Buccaneers. I picked the Chiefs and the Packers. And I think the Chiefs will win it all. I want the Buccaneers to win it all, but I don’t think that will happen.  I don’t think the Buccaneers could win because of their defense.  They beat the Packers by basically a touchdown and the Chiefs have a way better offense than the Packers. So I’m going to say the Chiefs will win but I’m going to root for the Buccaneers.
