2020 Halloween Rant

Harnit Kaur, Editor

2020 is by far the worst year of my entire life. From the cough cough sniffle sniffle (COVID-19), to nearly starting World War 3, it’s been terrible and I hope that everyone stays safe and follows COVID-19 guidelines. But one thing that I’m terribly saddened about, is the risk of getting COVID from trick or treating. I have personally decided not to go trick or treating this year to stay safe, which is a bit sad because this year, there’s supposed to be a full moon! In some areas such as Carteret, trick or treating has been scheduled from 12:00pm to 6:00pm to stay safe. There are also guidelines for trick or treating such as wearing masks(and costume masks don’t count!), frequent hand sanitizing, and social distancing. As much as I love Halloween, I’m staying home for my family and my own good. I’ve come to accept the fact that I can’t participate in the regular activities that are associated with Halloween, even though it has been hard to come to terms with. I encourage all you to heed the guidelines and stay safe if you are going trick or treating, and to still have fun even if you aren’t.
