Get Over-Excited for Oversplits

Get ready for over-splits

As a dancer, if you are not naturally flexible it may be hard to do certain things at dance. Many dancers may think splits and and over-splits are hard, but they improve your flexibility and make dance easier for you.

You want to start easy and put your leg up on a small platform. As you keep getting better at oversplits you can make your platform higher and higher each time. You want to make sure you don’t push yourself too far because that will stretch out your muscles too far. Go slow and only elevate the platform once you are comfortable where you are.

You will not see improvement right away unless you do them every night on both sides. Do this for about 2-3 mins holding the split position on each side while your leg is elevated.

After you have done this for about 2-3 weeks dance will become easier and your legs won’t be as sore as they were the last.
