Wikipedia, the world’s largest encyclopedia, was launched by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger in 2001. Now with a total of 5,789,362 articles written in 285 different languages, and an average of 1,040 words each.
As of September 2018, Wikipedia is the fifth most popular website, with a monthly readership of 495 million, 15.5 page views and 117 million unique views per month.
