The WMS 8th and 7 grade girls basketball team launch this year to go for the repeat championship victory under the guidance of new coaches Mrs. Kaschak and Mr. Maneri.

8th grader, Sidney DeVoogd, said basketball taught her “leadership and teamwork”.  She motivates her teammates saying“if I don’t motivate her team I’m not motivated.” DeVoogd and her team worked together by “moving the ball really well” and having good defense. She continued by providing advice for other basketball hopefuls, “play your game and focus on you,” which echoes advice from Coach Kaschack and Coach Maneri.

7th grader, Jade Allan, says that basketball has taught her to be a “team player ”.7 grade , Allan also said, “It’s nice to have people cheer for me.” Allan shared similar words from the coaches, explaining that, “ they will always be a team.” Allan stated that her team works together by running everything together.

Coach Maneri explained that the WMS cheerleaders brought a lot of passion to the games, “It’s nice having the cheerleaders in their basketball games.”
