A Canadian’s time to shine

MAKING HISTORY: Two Canadian artists make their mark at the award show.

The weekend of March 24th-26th the JUNO Awards took place. This Canadian’s time to shine show recognizes all the Canadians Worldwide. Including celebs like Shawn Mendes and Gord Downie.

The JUNO’s have been here ever since 1971 and it was named in tribute to Pierre Juneau. He is the first chairperson of of the Canadian Radio-television and the Telecommunications Commission.

At this years JUNO’s two Canadian artists have made history at the ceremony. Shawn Mendes and Gord Downie. Both of these inspiring artists have received more than one award at this shows recognition. It is difficult to achieve more than one award, but these two have accomplished it.

The both of them have made the winners list with Shawn Mendes receiving two awards and Gord Downie with a total of three. Congratulations to these two artist.
