The students of the month, Jamir Brown and Marela Alvarez, received rewards on their remarkable behavior during the month of February.

Jamir Brown, an 8th grade student, commented on how he received this reward, “I have been helping other students and working independently on my work, my grades have been improving.”

Brown said that in his free time he likes to play basketball and just “chill” at home, but he just said basketball was his main goal and that’s what he mostly enjoys in his free time.

When asked who inspired him to do what he wants, Brown quoted, “Kyrie Irving inspires me because of what he has done in the NBA and that he is from New Jersey, so he shows me that I can do it too.”

Then Brown touched on what he would tell other students in the grade and he stated his favorite quote, “The sky isn’t the limit because there are footsteps on the moon,” then he said why this is his favorite quote, “this makes me feel that I can go above and beyond and succeed.”

Later Alvarez discussed why she think she received this reward and she discussed, “I have been working very hard and I have been helping others in school.”

Some hobbies Alvarez reflected on are that she likes to draw and play music, but she mainly just wants to focus in school and keep receiving good grades.

She later reflected on who inspired her and she said, “My mom inspires me because she always works hard for me and tells me to I can be whatever I want to be.”

Lastly Alvarez explained what she would tell other students in the grade and she said that they should just “focus” and just always work hard.

Both students seemed excited to become students of the month and they hope receive this reward again!
