The WMS Warriors played in the championship game on Friday January 19th. The final score was 48-31 with a devastating loss.
Although the WMS boys basketball team lost, Glen Cantalupo, 7th grader, said “the season was good. We all became better and more advanced”. He said “we could’ve worked better as a team”. Cantalupo thinks his first season on the WMS boys basketball team was “fun” and said “we get to come back next year”.
Ricky Nagy “had a lot of confidence” at the beginning of the game and was “surprised how [they] played”. Nagy thinks the season went “very well” and that the team “definitely advanced throughout the season and [they] worked together as a team throughout the whole season”. Ricky says his first season at WMS “gave [him] a good idea on what [they’re] going to be up against next year”.
Dylan Bradley said the season was “good” because “[they] won a lot of games and did well overall”. He said they would have worked on “scoring” as a team by “focusing more”. “[He] was kind of mad that [they] lost”. Some advice Dylan would give to the seventh graders is “Win the championship by working hard on everything”. He was also “disappointed” he lost his last WMS basketball game because “nobody likes to lose”.
Jayson Bradley was “upset because [they] lost by so much”. He also thinks the season was “okay” overall. Some advice J. Bradley would give to the 7th graders would be to “work hard”. He was “upset” about his last game at WMS. Scoring was something that Jayson Bradley thought they needed to work on.
The WMS boys might have lost this years championship but they will come back next year even stronger.
