After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, USA declared war on the Axis which included Germany, the Ottoman empire, Japan and Italy. The bombing of Pearl Harbor surprised even Hitler and America was never really involved with war, they just sent supplies and men to the war. Hitler was to back Japan (which he US declared war on just 3 days ago) so america declared war on the Nazi. Both sides weren’t thinking a full on battle, but Pearl Harbor sealed the deal.
