3 weeks into the NFL season and the NFL is looking absolutely great. With these hugely entertaining 16 games, here is the recap of week 3 of the NFL season.
For starters, we had our 1st game of week 3 on Thursday night when we saw a division rivalry game between the Dolphins and Bills. Such an entertaining back and forth game ended with a score of 31-21 Bills. Tua Tagovailoa was looking better then he was in weeks 1 and 2 up until he threw the game losing pick. Josh Allen had a monster game throwing for 213 yards and 3 touchdowns. The game-ending interception made by Terrel Bernard for a 24 yard gain, led the Bills to tie the game and then kick a field goal for the win.
Additionally, there is truly nothing like NFL Sunday. There was no best player this past Sunday. There was a best formation and that was for sure the special teams formation. 2 punt return touchdowns and what felt like a million blocked field goals/PAT attempts. The Bengals struggled without Joe Burrow as they lost 48-10 to the Vikings. In the 2nd division rivalry game of week 3, Texans have also been struggling on offense especially when they lost 17-10 to the Jags. In the 3rd rivalry game of week 3, Daniel Jones’ dynasty continued as the 3-0 Colts embarrassed the Titans 41-20. The Raiders also continued to struggle as they lost 41-24 to the Commanders. The Rams thought they had the win but the Eagles came back, blocked 2 field goals in the game and at the end one of those blocked field goals were recovered by Jordan Davis for the game winner. In another division rivalry game, the Falcons probably struggled the most this Sunday as they lost 30-0 to the Panthers. The Steelers beat the Patriots 21-14 in a 5 fumble game (Pats with 4 fumbles and Steelers with 1.)
In a huge upset, the Browns win their first game of the season against what was looking to be like an undefeated Packers 13-10 as they blocked a field goal, recovered it, and kicked a game-winning field goal. We also learned that Quinshon Judkins is amazing as he rushed for 94 yards. In another back and forth game we saw the Jets lose 27-29 to the Buccaneers as another blocked field goal by the Bucs lead to a game-winning field goal of their own. In the 5th division rivalry game of week 3 we saw an intense game between the Chargers and Broncos with the final score being 23-20 Chargers. The Saints kept struggling as they lost 44-13 to Seattle (Seahawks.) The Cowboys go 0-3 as they lost 14-31 to what seems to be the Bears finally breaking out of their struggle. In the final divisional rivalry game of week 3 we saw the Cardinals vs the 49ers. Mac Jones still holds on by a thread as the 9ers barely beat the Cards 16-15. Closing out football Sunday with a 2nd Sunday Night snooze fest in a row where we saw the Giants lose 9-22 to the Chiefs who don’t even have their top 2 receivers.
Closing out week 3 we get blessed with the Lions vs the Ravens. In an undoubtedly amazing game, the Lions get the victory with a score of 38-30. With both teams putting heavy pressure on the other it is shocking how it was such a highly scoring game. Lamar Jackson and Jared Goff both competed for better stats as they both threw for over 200 yards and threw at least 1 touchdown. For anyone who picked up David Montgomery in fantasy football, you made the right choice because he put up 151 yards in only 12 carries and 2 touchdowns. Derrick Henry is still struggling as he also had 12 carries but only 50 yards and 1 touchdown and his 3rd fumble of the season. Altogether we learned that Detroit is as good as they were when they had Ben Johnson last season and the Ravens are struggling to win big games.
