When you think of J.K. Rowling, you probably think of the Harry Potter series. She has been praised since 1997 which is the release of the first Harry Potter book. She has also published many other books too. Some are about the Harry Potter books and others are completely different and take place in different worlds. I have read a good amount of her other books and have loved every single one of them. If you loved the Harry Potter series you’ll probably love the following books.
Related to the Harry Potter World
The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch Through the Ages, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them are all related to the Harry Potter world. They were all good books and helped me understand the original series better. My personal favorite was the Tales of Beedle the Bard because it explained more about the Deathly Hallows. The other books here are very well written as well and I found them very interesting.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard– This book answered all of my questions about the Three Brothers. It taught me where each of the Deathly Hallows came from. I knew the majority of it from the explanations provided in the books and movies but this tied up all of the loose ends. There were also other tales included in the book that were interesting. Overall it was a great selection of stories.
Final Rating- 10/10
Quidditch Through the Ages– Quidditch Through the Ages is brought up numerous times throughout the books and movies. Quidditch is also a huge part of the story and drives the plot during the Sorcerer’s Stone. This makes understanding the game really important. This book can answer all of your unanswered questions and gives you information about the sports origins. Overall I found this a helpful book but at some points a bit boring.
Final Rating- 8/10
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them– This book is a good way to understand the movies Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. You can learn more about the creatures in these movies as well as the creatures in the original series. I enjoyed how the book was organized and each beast was classified. It was also really fun to read about them and learn their natural habitats. It was a really fun book.
Final Rating- 9/10
There are plenty more books she has written about the Harry Potter series I haven’t read yet. Some examples are From the Wizarding Archive and Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide. I would recommend reading these books if you have any questions about the original Harry Potter series.
Unrelated to the Harry Potter World
J.K. Rowling has written other books unrelated to the Harry Potter series. Some are children’s fiction I read a couple years ago. Her Harry Potter books are her most popular ones and are still gaining fans. Her children’s fiction books are still really good and I remember loving the plot of them. All in all Rowling paved her way to become a successful author and her books are a good way to get into the fantasy world.
